![]() ![]() I transfer files all the time between my DOS PC and one of my Linux machines. It is an excellent choice for an AT with VGA, as well as any newer or modern system. It is also a lot smaller so is suitable for just about all uses, including floppy only systems. It is more advanced than ProComm and has some nice configuration options. Mind, all the newer (than 1983) programs include host mode which allows other users to dial into your box.įor the best of all worlds, I prefer Lync. It has the distinction of being very expandable with its SALT scripting language - it even being possible to write a whole BBS with it. Telix is quite large, but easy to use nevertheless. Version 2.3 from 1986 is available from many places on the net. A few years later there were better programs though. ![]() These are pretty simple, but quite functional, programs. I know there were earlier versions, but asking here and searching for several days did not uncover them. I was able to find four communications programs only. A couple of years ago I decided to focus on 1983 or earlier. The range of years, and subsequently software, is very wide for XTs and ATs. ![]()
